An accountant’s memory suddenly becomes mixed up starting from the moment the building he is in has a power blackout. He is bewildered that he can’t recall even simple particulars of his job and places he does remember don’t exist. Believing he has some type of amnesia, he tries to backtrack what happened before the blackout. Aided by a rookie detective and confused by an old girl friend, he tries to make sense of inconsistent facts while people around him are being murdered. Mirage, the 1965 Edward Dmytryk amnesia crime mystery thriller (about a man who forgets his past and winds up in a life or death situation; “RUN… Right into her arms… Perhaps she’ll lead you to your lost secret… …or into the arms of peril!”; “Is the key to his secret locked in his mind… or in her arms?”; “The danger is real… the woman is real… but the terrifying reasons are hidden behind an extraordinary”) starring Gregory Peck, Diane Baker, Kevin McCarthy, Jack Weston, Leif Erickson, Walter Abel, George Kennedy, and Walter Matthau (“as Ted Caselle”)
