Storyline

A formerly institutionalized young man (Anthony Perkins) meets up with a cute, sexy high school cheerleader (Tuesday Weld) and pretends to be a CIA agent to get her interested in him while she responds to his fantasy all too willingly. This, combined with her adult craving for sensual excitement, adds up to a potentially explosive pairing indeed. And explode it does. Pretty Poison, the classic 1968 Noel Black romantic black comedy crime murder thriller (“What brought a nice kid like Sue Ann to a shocking moment like this?”; “A shook-up story of the up-tight generation.”; “Did you ever see two kids like Dennis and Sue Ann? We think not…”; “We met on Monday. Fell in love on Tuesday. Wednesday I was unfaithful. Thursday we killed a guy together. How’s that for a crazy week!”; “…Wait till you see what they do to his aunt – to the night watchman – to her mother.”; about a mentally disturbed young man who tells a pretty girl that he’s a secret agent, and she believes him… But she turns out to be crazier than he is!; “Based on the novel by Stephen Geller”; “Screenplay by Lorenzo Semple, Jr.”) starring Anthony Perkins, Tuesday Weld, Beverly Garland, John Randolph, and Dick O’Neill
